About Ken Kniss

I am a geotechnical engineer specializing in ground improvement techniques for foundation and embankment support. My greatest assets are honesty, integrity, leadership and the desire to learn. Other strengths include working well in teams, communicating with clients, presenting/public speaking and adapting quickly to changes. As an employee of Keller, I spent roughly 2.5 years as a field engineer and 4 years as a project manager in the southeast US. I moved to Maryland to become a full-time engineer in May 2014. In 2018 I assumed the leadership duties of Keller North America\'s (Keller) Rigid Inclusion Product Team and Keller’s northeast Ground Improvement Engineering Group. I am excited and honored by the opportunity to work with these subsets of our business. My goals for both groups are to lead and manage by focusing on the highest priority issues and giving members of the team autonomy to accomplish tasks while supporting their efforts and career growth. My objective as Engineering Manager for Keller is to help Keller develop technically sound and cost-effective solutions for their clients. I strive to accomplish this objective by focusing on engineering fundamentals and working with others to achieve win-win outcomes. I am also focused on adding value to project managers, engineers and field crews by understanding their goals and providing sound technical and risk management advice to help them achieve success.
