While serving as the Acting Executive Director role for the Office of Student Health and Wellness at the Chicago Public Schools the following responsibilities are assigned during the interim:• Contribute to the development and continuous improvement of the OSHW strategic plan in alignment with district vision and C-suite priorities, as well as cutting-edge expertise and best practices from the public health field at large• Direct supervision of the Director of Health Promotion, Director of Health Services, and Director of Health Information. • Direct, progress monitor, and continuously improve the implementation of district-offered and school-based health and wellness supports• Effectively manage a multi-million-dollar operational budget composed of federal, state, local, and competitive grant funds.• Effectively manage the organizational structure including hiring and recruitment strategies• Foster partnerships with key community and philanthropic stakeholders to garner external financial and programmatic supports for OSHW goals• Partner with Academic and Network offices across the district to align OSHW goals to district and Network priorities, and create cohesion in school improvement efforts• Support schools, networks, and Central Office staff in problem solving and identifying appropriate resources to support health and wellness issues that arise• Oversee the review and refinement of district policies related to health and wellness of students and staff• Secure and develop contracts for services related to the health needs of students.• Actively participate in the creation of health policies, goals and objectives for the District.• Collaborate on development and implementation of disease prevention, response, and other emergency management health protocols in schools• Partner with community leaders to promote health equity throughout the district.
