Responsibilities/Accomplishments• Assist General Counsel with the drafting, negotiation and analysis of service, sponsorship, lease and license, employment, affiliation, entertainment and other agreements • Conduct extensive legal and /or factual internet research, as needed, and draft and disseminate legal and factual memoranda • Assist the CFO in negotiating, obtaining, modifying and renewing all annual insurance policies and coverages for the organization and the venue• Monitor and, where needed, direct the conduct of workers’ compensation claims and appeals affecting the team and/or its minor league affiliate(s)• Monitor and assist in the development and conduct of personal injury and property damage claims affecting the team and its venue• Litigation support: serve as primary contact and “point man” between the team and outside counsel on all litigation matters, up to and including performing any and all customary and extraordinary litigation paralegal functions, if needed and as appropriate• Provide support/assistance to Human Resources, Marketing, Charitable Foundation, Hockey Operations and Finance, as needed• Act as Sustainability Liaison between the team and the NHL: work with NHL Green representatives and outside vendors to promote and advance green initiatives by the team and for the venue (volunteer position)• Initiate and conduct debt collection from delinquent vendors, sponsors, and professional affiliates, as needed
