About Ken Bloom
Most recently Dr. Bloom was President and Head of Oncology and Immunotherapy for Human Longevity Inc. In this role, Dr. Bloom was responsible for all sequencing products and for establishing and leading the Oncology program. Under his direction, the team developed and commercialized an industry leading cancer exome product and commercialized a technique for validating neoantigens predicted from sequencing.Dr. Bloom previously served as Chief Medical Officer, In Vitro Diagnostics, Life Sciences, GE. He oversaw Medical Affairs, Pathology Services, and Research and Development. In addition, Dr. Bloom served as President and CEO of the medical group. Dr. Bloom was responsible for the development and execution of the Medical and Scientific strategy in alignment with GE Life Sciences overall mission and business objectives. He worked closely with other business units of GE healthcare, identifying and supporting synergies.Dr. Bloom was instrumental in designing the business strategy that grew Clarient from a start-up with no revenue to the acquisition by GE. Dr. Bloom oversaw the development of hundreds of laboratory developed tests including those using IHC, ISH, Flow Cytometry, and Molecular methods. Prior to Clarient, Dr. Bloom served as Medical Director of US Labs. There, Dr. Bloom revamped the Medical Team and was part of the leadership team which grew revenues from 18M to 75M, prior to its acquisition by LabCorp. Dr. Bloom spent 15 years at Rush Medical College where he held a variety of titles including Director of Laboratory Operations and Chief Information Officer of the Rush Cancer Institute. He was one of the founders and original board members of Initiate Systems, which utilized technology he created at Rush and sold to IBM in 2010.Dr. Bloom has served as principle investigator of more than a dozen clinical trials and has served as an advisor to numerous Pharmaceutical and Bio-Technology Companies.
