Construction of a new bascule bridge highway crossing of Lake Lothing, linking the north and south of Lowestoft. The scheme includes 300m (7 spans) of approach viaducts, one of which crosses the East Suffolk Railway. The piers for the bascule bridge are constructed using cofferdams within the river. Other marine works include steel tube piled protection dolphins and a pontoon. Other works include a control tower building for operating the bridge and 1Km or new single carriageway roadworks including two new roundabouts.
