ABOUT KELSEY FLOREK
Working at the intersection of Public Health, Data Science, and Microbial Genomics I have supported, managed, and oversaw the development of bioinformatic workflows, the creation of cloud-based computational infrastructure, and the implementation policies and practices that help support a highly productive team of bioinformaticians. In the field of public health infectious diseases I have supported the growth of multiple cross-cutting projects including the State Public Health Bioinformatics work group StaPH-B and the web based genomics platform Easy Genomics. I have also collaborated with multiple public health departments and the CDC to support the development and implementation of advanced bioinformatics approaches and infrastructure.Across these projects I have leveraged a variety of different technologies including AWS, Terraform, Nextflow, Python, R, Bash, JavaScript, Docker, and include a wide application of genomics, machine learning, and evolutionary biology software packages and tools.
