About Kelsey Paine
I am an associate in the Antitrust and Competition Law Practice of Baker Botts. Prior to joining the firm, I was an Assistant Attorney General in the Antitrust Division of the Texas Office of Attorney General.As an Assistant Attorney General, I worked alongside other state and federal enforcers to investigate and litigate alleged anticompetitive activity, including monopolization and mergers and acquisitions, across diverse industries. I have represented the state of Texas in a multidistrict antitrust enforcement concerning digital display advertising technology as well as a merger challenge in the telecommunications industry. Additionally, I was the lead attorney for the co-plaintiff states in a joint enforcement action brought with the Antitrust Division of the Department of Justice against the leading provider of online search engine tools and have experience evaluating transactions in the healthcare industry.I serve on the American Bar Association’s Antitrust Section State Enforcement Committee and am a member of the Military Spouse JD Network. I am barred in both Texas and Massachusetts and received my J.D. from the University of Miami School of Law, where I was the Senior Notes and Comments Editor for the Business Law Review and an exchange student at the University of Zurich.
