Originally from Rock Hill, South Carolina, Kelsey studied ballet and classical dance at an early age before majoring in Dance Education, Performance, and Choreography from the University of South Carolina, graduating Summa Cum Laude in 2013. She started a dance program in high school at her church and post college danced professionally with modern and contemporary companies in Columbia and Greenville, SC. Kelsey did her student teaching internship in both middle and high schools and taught ballet and modern technique at a variety of dance studios as well as choreographed group and solo pieces for performances and competitions post college. Kelsey served as the Outreach Director and Interim Director of 501c3 Carolina Ballet Theatre in Greenville, SC from 20••••15.In 2015 Kelsey started the Carolina Dance Collaborative with colleague and college friend, Alyson Dixon. Carolina Dance Collaborative has served over individuals since 2015 and Kelsey has expanded their services from Greenville, SC to the entire Upstate of SC and in 2021 expanded into the Raleigh, NC Triangle area. Kelsey has grown her team from 2 to 7 Employees and over 20 instructors. She is passionate about bringing dance education to all people in the community, leading her team with honesty, trust, and pursuit of goals. Kelsey has worn many hats since beginning CDC; which include but are not limited to registration, parent communication, grant writing, fundraising, donor relations, programming development and coordination, partner relationships, marketing, advertising, teaching, team leadership, finance and budgeting, payroll, taxes, federal filings, as well as creating and developing a board of directors. Kelsey is thrilled to have delegated and hired individuals to take on these responsibilities and move into an Operations and Strategic Planning and Visionary Role. Kelsey loves sharing her passion in arts integration and hopes to bring exposure, education, and involvement in dance throughout the different communities in the Carolinas. She can\'t wait to see the future and expansion of the Carolina Dance Collaborative in years to come and looks forward to growing her team and her vision.

   CDC is a non-profit 501c(3) dance organization in the Upstate of South Carolina and Triangle of North Carolina that makes dance education accessible to all people regardless of location, ability, or resources.As a mobile dance outreach organization we bring dance education directly to the people that we serve at YMCAs, After-School Programs, Senior Citizen and disability facilities, community centers, and more. We receive grant funding to create programs that deliver access to students who wouldn\'t have the opportunity to experience dance as a performing art otherwise.
