About Kelsey Kling

When I was 2, I dreamed of being on stage. My arts intensive youth instilled a love for all things creative and a work ethic that I admit sometimes borders on the obsessive. The more I studied theatre in college and graduate school, the more I gravitated to arts education. Communication, critical thinking, collaboration, creativity, adaptability-these high-demand skills are all foundational to the fine arts classroom but sometimes lacking in the broader educational environment. I followed a sometimes winding path to my current profession in educational leadership, but I cannot imagine working in any other space. What truly ignites me is being in a room (real or virtual) with like-minded professionals and forging connections to create better systems, products, and policy. A teacher at heart, I find few things more rewarding than knowing I have helped students to find arts learning opportunities and to foster their continued growth in whatever ways are at my disposal. My specialties include education policy advocacy and implementation, project management, curriculum development, fine arts education, instructional design, arts administration, professional development, development/grant writing, and educational publishing.
