About Kelsey Chiu

I am currently a senior at Elon University where I am majoring in Exercise Science with a minor in Psychology. Academically, I’m extremely curious and have broad interests in the areas of exercise physiology and biomechanics. My primary undergraduate research project is investigating the relationship between Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) and Relative Energy Deficiency in Sport (RED-S) in collegiate athletes, however I am also assisting on a project aimed at developing/testing an injury prevention screening for collegiate dancers. Professionally, I plan on graduating from Elon in May of 2026 and taking a gap year to pursue interests in strength & conditioning while applying to physical therapy school. Previously, I have had extensive experience as a gymnastics coach for children of all ages (3-17) and abilities (recreational & levels 3-10). I am also a Certified Personal Trainer (additionally pending CSCS certification) with particular interests in working with youth, artistic athletes, individuals with chronic medical conditions (specific experience with Ehlers Danlos Syndrome plus comorbidities), and older adults with functional/mobility-related goals. I am passionate, inquisitive, and diligent, and tend to thrive in high-energy, people-facing roles!
