About Kelly Mellott

I am a passionate, creative marketing and communications strategist with 15 years of experience to share. My strengths range from content strategy and content production, to video scripting, to creative direction and planning, digital strategy and patient advocacy strategy. I am a trained medical and science copywriter who believes compassion and empathy are at the heart of all good content. My favorite part of my work is sharing real stories that inspire and ignite change for the better in healthcare and the communities in which we live.In 2018, I was diagnosed with breast cancer at the age of 32. I got a real insider\'s look at the healthcare system in America over two years of active cancer treatment, and I have been both inspired and enraged (sometimes, all at the same time). I believe content has the power to influence patient outcomes through education, engagement and empowerment and I am deeply committed to using content to improve the patient experience. I\'m living proof of that myself.I am a Pittsburgher living in Charlottesville, VA and being a mom to my preschool-aged daughters is my greatest pride and joy. On the weekends, you\'ll find me in my garage-turned-art-studio making pottery, tending to my plants and practicing vinyasa yoga.
