My profile photo includes my heroes: my mom, my sister, and John Lewis, rest his soul. Each of these people overcame adversity to triumph in their fields and worked to bring justice and inclusion for all people in whatever they may seek to do.For my sis and my mom, that means inclusion in STEM (science, technology, engineering, math), disciplines that help humans make sense of the universe. STEM is used to better our world each and every day, but too often, it is posed as too difficult for certain people to understand. It\'s locked away in journals or within ivory towers, instead of made open and available for all, no matter their background or level of education.I\'ve dedicated my life to sharing the wonder that science affords us. I strive to help more people tap into their natural curiosity and to recognize what could be on this Earth if we asked important questions and worked together to find the answers.
