About Kelly Knief

I am a senior at SMU pursuing a BBA in Accounting at the Cox School of Business and a BA in Markets & Culture at the Dedman School. My education is being paid in part by the Provost Scholarship and SMU Leadership Scholarship based on academic excellence and leadership qualities. I am in the business direct and Hilltop Scholars programs granting me access to accelerated courses and additional leadership activities. I have previously worked as an intern for the INS Companies assisting in recognizing employees for their development. This experience has shown me how to properly manage my time and advanced my excel skills. In the summer of 2022, I worked as an intern for Lockton Companies in Kansas City. Through this opportunity, I was able to expand my skills in insurance and risk management. During the 2023 summer, I studied abroad in Orvieto, Italy. Through this exciting opportunity, I was able to expand my global perspective while taking multiple academic courses in a new cultural setting. Last summer, I worked in Dallas as an internal audit intern for EnLink Midstream. During my internship, I tested sustainability metrics for the ESG audit and tested SOX compliance for a variety of controls. I also developed a solid foundation of the oil and gas industry, specifically midstream operations.
