ABOUT KELLY HATHAWAY

Do you ever have moments that you feel like Einstein? There’s one that stands out to me. He once said “I have no special talents. I am only passionately curious.” I think that really describes me well and explains a lot about me. Hi, I’m Kelly and I’m passionately curious. While in undergraduate school I changed my major many times, and at the time I stressed about it. I enjoyed what I was learning but I wasn’t passionate solely about that one subject. It took some time, but I finally landed in the sciences and found a subject I thoroughly enjoyed. During this time I learned hard work along with time management as most of my college career was spent juggling two-three jobs on top of my classes, labs, and club activities. I’m thankful for this time and all the skills I sharpened such as team work, analytical skills, time management, and how to ask for help. Currently, I work at the Dillard’s corporate office in the maintenance department. I do a lot of Accounts Payable work looking at open invoices and managing JP Morgan accounts. I maintain relationships with our vendors and make sure payments are made in a timely fashion, even in the midst of a pandemic. On the weekends I work at my local Starbucks as a barista. Starbucks was my favorite job through college and I learned I had a passion for people and coffee (sometimes tea and hot cocoa too.) In my spare time I also work on aquatic research studies at the University of Central Arkansas.
