About Kelly Fitzsimmons
I am a passionate and purpose-driven leader in patient advocacy, dedicated to forging authentic and productive partnerships with patient communities and embedding their voice into every stage of drug development. With more than 20 years of experince spanning maternal-fetal, neonatal, immunology, oncology, genetic disorders and rare diseases, I believe that meaningful progress is possible when industry elevates patient needs not just in new therapies, but in holistic care, access, education and long-term wellbeing. In my role as Director of Patient Advocacy at Astria Therapeutics, I lead efforts to listen deeply to lived experience, co-create with patients and caregivers, and help shape clinical programs, strategic priorities and community initiatives that reflect the real-world burden of disease. I champion advocacy that is collaborative, compliant, outcomes-oriented and rooted in empathy.
