The Procure-to-Pay Automation Project was initiated under President Ray Cross in the fall of 2019 to launch ShopUW+, the new systemwide online purchasing and accounts payable system. The goal was to create one systemwide platform to transform purchasing and accounts payable across the UW System. In my role as the Senior UW System Project Manager, I oversaw the successful deployment of ShopUW+ from inception to stabilization over three years with multiple vendors and 300+ project stakeholders across all 13 UW Systems campuses. This new cloud-based purchasing and payables platform with end users supports the UW System’s $1.5 billion in annual good and services expenditures. • Developed and managed the overall project structure and process throughout, including Executive Sponsors, Project Sponsors, Steering Committee, Project Director, Lead Team, Working Groups, Testing Teams, ad-hoc Tiger Teams, Change Management and Engagement Team, and Change Networks.• Served as the senior strategic advisor to both Project Directors in mitigating and resolving critical issues and risks, proposing and enacting solutions to challenges to improve team culture and morale, building team trust and confidence, and confidentially navigating delicate political, cultural, and staffing challenges. • Supported a team of UWSA Project Managers and Communication Specialists contributing to the project by providing on-boarding, mentorship, direction, and issue resolution. • Lead effective completion of project and change management deliverables and initiatives including planning, scoping, business case formulation, resourcing, budget management, stakeholder management, strategic and leadership communications and presentations, vendor management, scope and risk management, integration analysis and planning, progress monitoring and reporting, testing, cutover, change control, and closeout.
