About Kelly Collins
I am currently pursuing a Master of Science in Addiction Policy and Practice at Georgetown University, where I am building a strong foundation in evidence-based policy. I am interested in the use of opioid settlement funds and ensuring these resources are allocated in alignment with best practices to reduce overdose and support recovery.I recently joined Shatterproof working as a State Policy Intern, where I collect data on how opioid settlement funds are being distributed and utilized across states. This project supports policy research and advocacy efforts aimed at strengthening transparency, accountability, equity, and the public health impact of these settlements.I earned my B.A. in Chemistry and Psychology from Lake Forest College. My background includes internships with the GPF Foundation, Lake County Children’s Advocacy Center, and the St. Louis Metropolitan Crime Laboratory, as well as research assistant roles in both chemistry and psychology laboratories.
