ABOUT KELLY WUNDERLICH M. DIV

Prior to my current role as a chaplain, I was a business leader. Some people are confused by the dichotomy of these two career phases. However, the combination has been an asset in my ability to influence positive change in people, teams, and organizations. I believe there are two driving forces of exceptional leadership, compassion and empathy. Effective leadership cannot thrive in an environment where the workforce experiences a lack of recognition, kindness, honesty, motivation, and confidence-building. Additionally, leaders need empathy to inspire team members\' understanding and knowledge. Empathy dissipates defensiveness, removes confusion, and facilitates open dialogue and receptiveness in the listener. The resulting environment is perfect for creative problem-solving, constructed feedback, and honest, transparent communication which creates a foundation for long-term success. My non-conventional career path allows me to combine a unique blend of business acumen from 10+ years of account management and sales team leadership with counseling skills honed from 20+ years as a Chaplain to assist individuals, teams, and organizations with performance enhancement and goal attainment. My management style is hands-on and personal. I help individuals and teams identify, acknowledge, and solve problems harming productivity and effective communication. I encourage new patterns of thinking to help them be more successful in the future. Once team members start thinking in terms of success rather than defeat, anything is possible. My years as a Chaplain have fostered an attitude of abundance. I seek to understand what team members need rather than focus on what they are not doing. I view challenges as opportunities versus obstacles, setting the tone for others. I encourage and lead with hope, assisting others in discovering their power to facilitate their growth and development. My ability to understand people is a conduit to having the greatest impact on guiding others. Spending years in a counseling role has helped me understand that people want to be part of something meaningful and influential. Nothing is more potent than a person driven from their heart. I am committed to inspiring passion in others who may not know how to tap into it on their own. After 20 years as a Chaplain, I am seeking to capitalize on my business acumen, counseling prowess, and compassionate and empathetic leadership style in a corporate environment with a role designed to enhance individual performance, organizational culture, and community.
