ABOUT KELLY SHAMBAUGH
I focus on what happens when change hits real people, real systems, and real resistance — the part that doesn\'t fit neatly on a slide. Every organization says people are their greatest asset. Then they launch a transformation and treat people like the last variable to solve for.I focus on what happens when change hits real people, real systems, and real resistance, the part that doesn’t fit neatly on a slide. I start where most change efforts end: with what people actually need to move forward, not just what the timeline says they should.Because resistance isn’t a problem to manage. It’s information. It tells you what hasn’t been addressed, what feels unsafe, and what leaders need to hear before they can expect anyone to show up differently.I specialize in Red Teaming strategy and change. I surface the assumptions no one wants to question. I help leaders understand what they’re actually asking people to do, how work will really change, and whether the strategy will hold up once it leaves the boardroom.I ask the questions that need to be asked before go-live, not after. I surface potential failures early. I push back, not to slow things down, but to strengthen decision quality. I do this because the people going through the change deserve someone in their corner, not just a communication plan and a go-live date.I didn’t learn this from a textbook. I learned it by spending fourteen years inside a 1,700+ employee FCA-regulated financial services organization, building the change function where none existed. I led the people side of enterprise system implementations. I coached executives through transitions where the stakes were real and the margin for error was thin. I introduced Red Teaming at the leadership level because I saw too many strategies go unchallenged until it was too late. When I work with leaders and teams, I’m not trying to fix how people show up. I’m trying to understand it, because when people feel seen and supported through change, they don’t just comply. They commit. And that’s where real transformation happens.I’ve grown from my own struggles, and that’s not something I shy away from. It’s what gives me the ability to sit across from a leader or a team in the middle of something hard and say, “I understand, and we’re going to figure this out together.”
