Since Kelly S. Klatt, CPP, CLSD has been the Area Director of Safety & Security at Loews Hotels in Orlando, Florida. He is responsible for all current safety and security planning, design, security technology, investigations, personnel, policies and procedures for the existing campus of nine properties with rooms, as well as all future Loews Hotels development in Orlando. Klatt also operates Center for Security Solutions, Inc. a security consulting company. Through C4SSi, among other projects, he has been the primary Security Consultant for Lockheed Martin’s “New Security Initiatives” program and Tavistock Group’s “Albany” high end development community in the Bahamas. There he designed Albany’s security and fire response programs as well as their security command center and gatehouse Klatt is a former Los Angeles Police Officer having spent 15 years in various challenging assignments. He then entered private industry in Shopping Center and Hotel Security Management. He spent seven years with the City of San Diego as the Chief of Convention Center Police. There his responsibilities included security at all City of San Diego Public Assembly Facilities. During which time he was in charge of security at city venues for the Republican National Convention and Super Bowl He returned to lodging security and rejoined Loews Hotels, in Orlando. In 2004 Klatt assisted the Hellenic National Police in Athens, Greece with operational planning for the Olympics. Klatt has been Board Certified in Security Management since 1993, when he was designated a Certified Protection Professional (CPP) by ASIS International. Klatt was designated a Certified Lodging Security Director (CLSD) by the American Hotel and Lodging Association in 2017. He is a certified CPTED practitioner by the National Institute of Crime Prevention and the International CPTED Association, and he is an OSHA Compliance Officer. Additionally, Klatt is a member of the International Association of Professional Security Consultants and ASIS International. With over 40 years’ experience, Kelly S. Klatt, CPP, CLSD is a much sought after consultant and expert in hospitality security, major special event security, fire/life safety design, security systems design, and as an Expert Witness.
