ABOUT KELLY MCLAUGHLIN

I\'m a real estate, finance, tax credit and equity syndication lawyer who advises mission-driven organizations wanting to create and preserve affordable housing. My goal: To make the American dream of safe and secure housing a reality for Americans at all income levels. I\'ve has spent 20+ years as counsel in private practice with large and boutique law firms and served as in-house counsel for a government agency and non-profit organizations. For a few years, I took a sabbatical from the legal field to serve as the Executive Director of a small nonprofit providing homeless services and affordable housing in my local community of Howard County, MD. I like to think that I bring an international, multi-cultural perspective to my endeavors, having lived in seven countries, including the U.S. This experience and deep exposure to different (and often similar) ways we think and live our lives has taught me to have an open and creative mindset. In my spare time, I volunteer as a board member for the same local non-profit I once ran and I\'m working on my bucket list activity of participating in the annual, frigid, six+-mile swim cross the Chesapeake Bay.
