Indigenous Works (formerly the Aboriginal Human Resource Council) was established in 1998 as a not for profit organization with a mandate ‘to increase the engagement of Indigenous people in the Canadian economy’. IW has spent the last 20+ years learning about the complex landscape which characterizes workplace inclusion, employment and the working relationships between Indigenous communities and corporate Canada. IW has been ISO certified since 2010 and has reputation for designing innovative strategies, systems and models. We have conducted over 100 projects with private, public and Indigenous partners and in 2020 launched the \"Indigenous Works Employer of Choice Certification Program\"- the first employment and workplace certification of its kind.

ABOUT KELLY LENDSAY
Kelly Lendsay is a social entrepreneur who is internationally recognized as one of Canada’s foremost innovators and organizational development experts in workplace, employment, corporate/indigenous partnerships and Indigenous inclusion strategies. His dynamic communications style and social entrepreneurial success has earned him the reputation as an engaging thought leader and effective bridge-builder fostering trusted partnerships for workforce and economic development across Canada and abroad. A proud Canadian Indigenous leader of Cree and Métis ancestry, he moves seamlessly between both worlds fostering economic inclusion, well-being and prosperity for Canada. He was honored by the University of Saskatchewan (U of S) as one of their “100 Alumni of Influence” in the last century whose accomplishments have been recognized for influencing the growth and development of the university, the province, and the world during the last century. In 2020 he launched a plan for a new initiative called \"Luminary: Advancing Indigenous Innovation for Economic Transformation, Employment and Well-Being\" with more than 100 University, Colleges, Polytechnics, Indigenous Economic Development Corporations and Businesses and NGO\'s signed on as Luminary Charter Partners. In the fall of 2020, the first ever \"Indigenous Works Employer of Choice Certification Program\" rolled out. He has launched a lifeguard training company, swiftwater rescue company, windsurfing retail store and after completing his his MBA in 1993, a management consulting company. In 1994/95 he became the first director of the first Aboriginal business education program in Canada at the University of Saskatchewan. He is the inaugural president of Indigenous Works (formerly the Aboriginal Human Resource Council) leading the charge since 1998 to build stronger corporate – Indigenous engagements and growing the organization into an award winning, ISO certified enterprise. In 2015 he graduated from the Director Education Program, Institute of Corporate Directors, Rotman’s School of Management with the ICD.D designation. Kelly is active in running, kitesurfing, yoga, pickleball, golf and resides in Saskatoon with his wife Shiela.
