ABOUT KELLY JANES
I specialize in watershed management issues including planning and designing projects for flood risk management, deep draft navigation, and river, wetland and coastal restoration. My main interest is in how human communities can learn to accommodate and utilize natural processes and how intelligent resource management and planning can contribute to the creation of more resilient human communities and ecosystems. My work also includes risk analysis and management, climate change adaptation, collaborative planning processes, community outreach, public involvement, facilitation, and open space and recreation planning. Through my educational and professional experiences, I have become skilled in thinking critically about planning problems and approaching them from multiple temporal and spatial scales. Additionally, I have developed the writing, mapping, and graphic design skills necessary to communicate effectively with multiple and various audiences.
