Kelly served at the IRS from 1986 - and was part of the core team that rolled out the Blueprint for Modernization 1997. She was responsible for most of the Visio architectural diagrams found in the then IRS Blueprint. She started at IRS as a ‘C’ programmer, Informix DBA, supervised programmers, helped to create the Development Centers, and consolidate disparate applications to National Standards. Kelly left the IRS to go to Visio where she was the lead Technology Specialist of East Region. After three months, Microsoft announced their acquisition of Visio and she has been working at Microsoft for the past 18+ years. She is was the Project Manager for Financial Services, lead the Business Productivity Advisor launch, expert on Microsoft licensing, and has served as Program Manager and Change Manager for several strategic initiatives and transformation projects at Microsoft. She was the business manager for a 4.2 billion dollar portfolio and helped to grow revenue year over year. The last seven years she worked with at the highest levels at Microsoft domestically and globally on transformation, and technology business management initiatives. In her own words ‘there is purpose and meaning in the work at IRS. I leaned on the skills I learned here in so many situations helping private sector customers and partners. I want to be part of the team that is solving for the largest of all financial services transformation and modernization. I am humbled and delighted - it feels like I am home.’
