ABOUT KELLY COLLIGAN
I am a chemical engineer with a passion for controls systems, coding, and leadership. With over a decade of experience in engineering including DCS and DMC systems, I enjoy taking on creative technical problems and building new solutions. I currently manage a team of talented industrial programmers that install MES systems in manufacturing and industrial environments. At my previous position as the Digital and Automation Manager at Henkel, I headed a team consisting of shift programmers, automation specialists, and automation engineers responsible for 24/7 operation of the Salt Lake facility. As the site Digital Engineer, I also managed all digital projects and worked with the international team to bring the site to Industry 4.0. This included creating a robust plant network, data logging metrics in tools such as MES and Tableau, and building an SQL data lake of information in conjunction with global engineering. Previously, I worked as a Process Controls Engineer at the Salt Lake City Marathon oil refinery. I was in a controls centered role for 7 years, mostly working with Honeywell control systems and Experion PKS. Within these technologies, I have worked on and lead multiple upgrade projects involving both hot and cold cutovers, migrating I/O to C series and UPCs, and PMIO. I have also worked in Advanced Controls with DMC (Dynamic Matrix Control) with Aspen products Model, Build, and Simulate to build and maintain controllers on Hydrogen Facilities. Additionally, I worked with our PLC specialist and online training platforms to broaden my controls knowledge to include Allen-Bradley Rockwell Automation programming. I have a track record of projects coming in on time and I have authored controls programs that have generated an annual savings of $30MM during my tenure at Marathon and Andeavor. I also served as an intern supervisor, which involved creating a challenging yet manageable project schedule and offering the interns support and guidance throughout their role. Finally, I was on the leadership team of both Los Angeles Refinery\'s and Salt Lake Refinery\'s Womens Networks. Through these networks I was able to provide technical and soft-skill trainings to the refinery and give back to the community through volunteering and philanthropy.
