I helped move Rising Scholars from a program funded with one-time dollars of $5 million to a $25 million dollar a year program that is recognized as an official categorical program in the community college system.In this role, I have worked with more than 40 colleges to build free and low-cost programs in prisons, jails, and juvenile detention centers and have supported dozens of colleges as they built on-campus support programs for people post-release. I provide robust support to more than 100 educators and correctional partners, and represent their voices in advocacy to the Chancellor\'s Office and state agencies.
