The Defense POW/MIA Accounting Agency (DPAA)\'s mission is to provide the fullest possible accounting of missing personnel to their families and the nation. This includes leading the national effort to recover and identify remains of Department of Defense personnel missing from past conflicts. The agency also aims to provide families with the most up-to-date information about loss incidents, search and recovery efforts, and the accounting status of their missing loved ones.
