A 2011 study entitled, “Women of Wealth: Why Does the Financial Services Industry Still Not Hear Them?” states,\"Women are not only the new financial “heads of household” but wealth creators in their own right. The impact & influence women have in the world of consumer finance cannot be ignored & financial advisors who do will not survive.\"¹ The statistics speak for themselves; 95% of women will be their family’s primary financial decision maker at some point in their lives.² Today, women control 51.3%, or $14 trillion, in personal wealth, & that figure is expected to grow to $22 trillion within the next decade.³ By 2030, women will control 2/3\'s of the nation’s wealth, a result of strong organic growth rates buoyed by trillions in generational & spousal transfers.⁴ But barriers still remain, particularly in the financial industry. Women are more dissatisfied with financial services than with anything else affecting their daily lives; ⁵ they believe their gender is a key factor in the disrespect & condescension they experience & the poor financial advice they receive. ⁶ These statistics & her firsthand experiences inspired Kelli to build a Financial Advisory Practice of her own.
