About Kelley Padilla

My first college internship was not in Human Resources, nor was my second. I began with an internship in Engineering, followed by an internship the following summer in Inventory Control. I wanted to gain a broad range of experience in business. My first position out of college wasn’t in Human Resources either. Again, working in a subset of IT, I was able to gain experience in juggling two project plans for redesigning Moraine Park Technical College’s website and creating a student and staff portal. Little did I know that the Gantt chart I learned about in college was going to come in handy! Through the experience I’ve gained throughout my positions in other fields, I have obtained a strategic business background. I am able to see issues from all points in order to find an innovative solution. I knew I belonged in Human Resources. I eventually transitioned to Organizational Development. I have a network of Human Resources and Safety professionals as resources to stay abreast of best practices within the fields. I strongly believe that continuing education is infinitely important to an organization staying competitive. I have obtained my PHR and SHRM-CP certifications. I look forward to continuing to hone my Human Resources skills as I move forward in my career.
