I host Baillie Gifford’s podcast, Short Briefings on Long Term Thinking, regularly chatting with our investment managers and other senior decision-makers about the companies, technologies and trends shaping long-term progress. In addition, I help edit the firm’s magazine Trust and help with other projects, with a focus on storytelling and data visualisation. Previously, I ran BBC News\'s technology desk, providing online coverage of the tech sector, as well as discussing topics of the day on TV and radio news plus a weekly podcast. Additionally, I worked on a series of tech-themed Panorama documentaries on Huawei, Amazon and AI. Prior to that, I covered international business and economics news and before that Scottish politics.Personal interests include developments related to the pursuit of AGI, founders, renewables/fusion, China, the commercialisation of space, internet retail, general technology and culture.I can also be contacted at @leokelion on X.
