From the small business owner to the black business advocate, Dr. Kela Taylor’s entrepreneurial journey hasn’t been business as usual. For the last decade, her tenacious grind and ambitious resilience have pioneered one successful venture after another. Today, her mission is to amplify black enterprises through passionate Estate Planning and Wealth Creation. In addition to pinning her own expose’, “My Dream Business My Worst Nightmare: Modern Day Oppression in Black Entrepreneurship,” Kela is a council member for the Small Business Majority and past present Chair of the Atlanta Black Chambers Governmental Affairs Committee. Before championing black business, Taylor operated out of a building, serving as Founder and CEO of a salon suite facility and private social venue in the heart of Midtown Atlanta. From the City of Atlanta Proclamations to memorable life celebrations, the venue hosted over guests and many of Atlanta’s most sought-after events. Among many other accomplishments, Taylor is a graduate of the University of Georgia’s Small Business Development Center’s StartSmart, GrowSmart, Ignite Cohorts, and many other small business development programs. She is also a Rising in Community Excellence Award Winner and a five-time Certified Business Government Contract Professional award recipient. Dr. Kela’s life’s mission is to drive innovative and alternative avenues to build wealth, and to create altruistic opportunities where individuals to navigate and thrive in the foreseeable forthcoming economic distress.
