Extensive experience as an infection prevention & control professional, including experience directing infection prevention & control programs in a variety of hospital settings which includes both pediatric and adult patients. Former President of the Certification Board of Infection Control and Epidemiology (CBIC), and a co-author of numerous peer reviewed articles, scientific abstracts, and text book chapters on the topic of infection prevention and infectious disease outbreak investigations. Expert member on the United States Pharmacopeial Convention (USP) Compounding Committee and co-authored the 2008 revised Chapter on Sterile Compounding of Preparations published in USP-National Formulary as well as co-author of the Pharmacy Chapter in the APIC TEXT and Microbiology Chapter in Compounding Sterile Preparations, 4th ed, E. Clyde Buchanan, Philip J. Schneider, editors, Association for Health-System Pharmacists publication. The 2024 recipient of the SHEA Advanced Practice Infection Preventionist Award.
