   Deliver supervised care in 20-bed Medical ICU for diverse adults including sepsis, acute respiratory failure, cardiac dysrhythmias (e.g. VFib/VT, PEA, wide QRS), multi-organ failure, cardiovascular accidents (e.g. stroke, aneurism, TIA) and Level II trauma recoveries. Float to CSU, TICU, and ED as necessary.Support RNs near advanced therapies like mechanical ventilation, CRRT for AKI/fluid overload in septic/shock patients, ECMO circuits, hemodynamic monitoring (CVP/PAWP), bedside imaging & procedures, and central/arterial lines.Perform non-medicated support tasks, including 12-lead ECG, telemetry monitoring, suctioning & oral care, straight & foley catheterization, drains maintenance, IV assessment & removal, line care, bladder scans, chest tube care, bedside procedure setup, and basic to moderate wound care, including wound vacuums.Serve as Monitor/Telemetry Tech for the unit as needed.Provide non-medicated support care, including non-sterile dressing changes, skin protection, application of heat or ice, oxygen delivery, and venous compression devices. Assist team with patient admissions and set up rooms prior.Obtain crash cart, perform compressions, assist during codes.Obtain collection of specimens for POC diagnostic or waived tests. Ensure accuracy of all labels and timely transfer of specimen.Retrieve medication from pharmacy, storage room, or tube system and deliver to licensed staff member.Assist with patient preparation for surgery, transport patients to CT, MRI, or when downgraded.Obtain and document initial and ongoing patient information throughout the cycle of care, including admissions data, vital signs, height and weight, blood pressure, oxygen saturation, blood glucose levels, I&O and calorie counts.Assist in the setup, removal and cleaning of medical equipment. Identify malfunctioning equipment and initiate repairs.Prepare and maintain chart, MAR and Kardex on each patient admitted. Add documentation forms to chart as needed.
