I am a shareholder at Young Basile specializing in patent prosecution in the software field, namely, in the areas of video conferencing, image and video compression and decompression, video transcoding, image pipeline processing, platform-as-a-service and software-as-a-service cloud computing systems, machine learning models, automated market systems, unmanned aerial vehicle control systems, wearable devices, and internet of things connected device technologies.I provide strategic counseling in prosecuting patent applications before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office by: conducting patentability searches; drafting provisional, non-provisional and PCT/national stage applications; and responding to office actions. I have significant experience in the continually changing landscape of U.S. patent subject matter eligibility, particularly as it concerns software technologies and systems implemented using software. I routinely studies the newest case law and U.S. Patent and Trademark Office examination guidance to strategically draft patent applications and office action responses to avoid or overcome eligibility rejections.My practice also includes: performing clearance studies; conducting due diligence analyses; and providing litigation support, including by developing infringement and invalidity contentions and theories.
