Whilst operating as a close protection operator in Iraq I used my down time to study for a remote pilot qualification and private pilot license. Completing an operations manual and operating safety case in excess of words, it was approved by the UK civil aviation authority for a permission for commercial operations, operating unmanned aerial vehicles, both day and night in the United Kingdom. I spent 2 years in a phase of research and development, applying my professional security experience and incorporating what is now Airvis Ltd, a service provider of security and surveillance UAV teams.
