ABOUT KEITH REID

Sustainable management of our soil resources is key to improving or maintaining the economic, social and environmental integrity of countries around the world. We can only successfully accomplish this goal, however, if we understand the processes that are happening below our feet. Otherwise, we impose inappropriate management practices that have been transplanted from other areas, causing more harm than good. In my work, I focus on balancing the economic and environmental impacts of nutrient use, to optimize the benefits to the farmer and society, but this is done in the much broader context of farming systems and soil/climate/landform combinations.
