As the most senior-level executive in Risk Assessment for COTA, develops and manages the administration of policies, procedures and systems necessary to safeguard the Authority\'s assets and ensure the safety of both employees and the riding public at COTA facilities and on COTA transit system vehicles. Oversees assignments for uniform, undercover and terminal police officers; assigns and monitors security guards as needed; conducts covert investigations as appropriate. Manages the System Security Program Plan, Security Emergency Contingency and Disaster Plan (Continuity of Business Plan) and prepares reports/presentations on risk assessment programs and related incidents, performing data analysis of security-related incidents to improve training and passenger safety. Convenes and chairs an interdepartmental COTA Security Committee and Security Breach and Review Committee that are responsible for developing and coordinating responses to Homeland Security Alerts, ensuring that development of local emergency preparedness and response plans is in accordance with defined Homeland Security requirements and Federal Transit Administration policies and best practices. Completes FTA security audits, training requirements and recommendations associated with Homeland Security directives. Created, convenes and chairs the COTA Safe and Secure Task Force for All which includes 15 non-profit organizations and social service organizations in the Columbus area addressing the specific needs of COTA ridership in the areas of addiction, homelessness, poverty and mental health.
