This is a continuation of my previous position with ABB under new ownership.Senior mechanical engineer responsible for the design and development of telecom/datacom power products including DC distributions, 19”/23” power shelves, system controllers, battery voltage/thermal probe, and AC/DC rectifiers. The development of these products requires skills in designing with sheet metal (cold rolled steel & copper), injection molded plastic, printed circuit board assemblies, wiresets/cable assemblies (including over-molded cable assembly), and extrusions. Some of the parts designed include chassis, shelves, heatsinks, faceplates, covers, EMI shields, labels, and custom hardware.Also responsible for coordinating cost-down projects/efforts in support of company’s on-going cost savings goals. Working with sourcing, component engineering, design engineering, and production factories to identify and develop cost-down ideas, then verify updates were tested/qualified and finally released to production.
