I am the author of Endless Flight: the Life of Joseph Roth, the first English-language biography of the great Austrian novelist and journalist, published by Granta Books in October 2022. The book has received widespread positive coverage in publications such as The New York Times, the New York Review of Books, the Guardian, the Daily Telegraph, the Times Literary Supplement, the Observer, and numerous other titles. It has also been published in Dutch translation as Eindeloze Vlucht: het Leven van Joseph Roth (Atlas Contact, 2022).Prior to my previous biography, Jumpin’ Jack Flash: David Litvinoff and the Rock’n’roll Underworld (Jonathan Cape, 2016), I wrote The Bumper Book of Dinosaurs (Square Peg, 2013). This popular science guide to dinosaurs came out in the USA under the title Dinosaurs: the Grand Tour (published by The Experiment, 2014). This was a Scientific American Book Club Choice and continues to sell across the USA. The book has also been translated into Czech and Chinese. Before that, June 2013 saw the publication of Into the Light: the Medieval Hebrew Poetry of Meir of Norwich (East Publishing), which I edited and introduced, working closely with the poet\'s translators and Writers\' Centre Norwich (now the National Centre for Writing) to bring this significant 13th century writer to prominence after centuries of obscurity. In 2023 we intend to publish a new edition of this book.
