About Kathryn Hubert

I have been in love with food for as long as I can remember. The anticipation, the preparation, and the consumption! This love has only grown over the years. I began experimenting with recipes and techniques for my family and friends during my teenage years, which eventually led to pursuing a degree in Culinary in college. This opened doors to the restaurant world and ultimately took me to the Burgundy region of France, where I had the complete honor of playing in the kitchen at the Château de Saint Albain for an entire year. The French people won my heart and I have great respect for the time they take to not only prepare their food, but also to eat it! This is a lifestyle and culture that I hope to emulate here in the U.S. About 5 years ago, I was day-dreaming,\"if I could have any job in the world, what would it be?\", and the thought,\"I would open a restaurant that employs adults needing someone to give them a chance\" immediately came to mind. Growing up with incredible three cousins with Autism, I have observed firsthand the difficulties that many individuals with disabilities encounter to be accepted and welcomed into traditional work environments. The desire to help close that gap began, and combining that dream with my love of French food, hospitality, and culture was a natural fit. Throw in years of preparation and training, collaborating with super smart and talented friends, and several ups and downs later, and Chez Genèse was born! ​​ I believe that food is both completely essentially and totally enjoyable. I believe that food is nothing to be afraid of, a beautiful art form, central to culture, brings people together, and frankly, just a whole lot of fun.
