Following successful support on PECL\'s GHG Abatement Program, Stantec was engaged to support integrating Petronas\' then proprietary hybrid membrane/amine post combustion carbon capture solution, named CarbonStrike, into a novel vessel. My team was challenged to provide a packaged vessel solution for their now patented membranes and CO2Tru solvent that would allow CarbonStrike to obtain a lower LCOC (Levelized Cost of Carbon) than leading carbon capture competitors. In collaboration with multiple stakeholders, our team designed a FOAK pilot 10TPD combined DCC/absorber/wash water unit that integrates the membranes/CO2Tru hybrid solution into a non-code, shop fabricated, modular vessel. This vessel has status patent pending, and currently planned to achieve TRL 8 early Q2 2026, which would allow CarbonStrike to achieve commercial status.Primary focus is on greenhouse gas abatement via post-combustion carbon capture project development through FEL2 as the lead carbon capture engineer. The dynamic nature of the roles involves the following-Establishing and maintaining positive internal and external stakeholder relationships-Acting as single point technical interface with the client for the project and provide advice and guidance to the engineering disciplines-Development of feasibility studies, DBMs, FEED Reports, EWPs/CWPs, project planning documents and client progress reports, estimates, emissions inventorying, schedule generation and adherence-Review of project documentation (specifications, PFD/P & ID drawings, designs, line/tie-in/equipment lists etc.) prior to issue for accuracy, completeness and presentation, and coordinate construction support activities.
