At Zelle, I played a key role in building the real-time fraud detection platform that safeguards millions of payment transactions every day. I led end-to-end solution design in collaboration with product managers, data scientists, and fraud investigation teams, making sure our pipelines were not only scalable but business-critical.I engineered streaming pipelines with Apache Flink, Kafka Streams, and AWS Glue, delivering 99.99% uptime while processing millions of transactions daily. By integrating Spark Structured Streaming with dbt and orchestrating workflows with AWS Step Functions and Lambda, I brought fraud scoring latency down to under 8 seconds. A huge step forward in real-time risk mitigation.To support investigators, I built interactive dashboards in Power BI, powered by secure real-time queries to Redshift and Lake Formation. These tools cut incident response time by 40% and gave teams the ability to drill into anomalies and geospatial patterns instantly.I also connected machine learning fraud models in SageMaker directly into streaming pipelines, automatically triggering actions on flagged events. This integration increased automated fraud capture rates by 32% in high-risk transaction classes.Finally, I optimized analytics storage on Delta Lake and Iceberg with advanced partitioning and ACID layers, boosting query performance 3x while reducing monthly storage costs by 20%.This role deepened my expertise in streaming architectures, ML integration, and cloud-native optimization, and gave me the chance to directly impact financial security at scale.
