ABOUT KEENA HUDSON
As a part-time faculty at Parsons School of Design and Pratt Institute, I teach and mentor students who aspire to become designers and creatives. I have a Master of Arts in Fashion Studies from Parsons, where I developed my research and writing skills related to fat studies, apparel design, and apparel merchandising. I have been teaching for over three years and have received positive feedback from my students and colleagues. My passion and expertise lie in size inclusive fashion, a field that challenges the norms and stereotypes of the fashion industry and the design education sector. I have designed and created a size-inclusive swimwear collection that showcases the diversity and beauty of fat bodies. I have also written a master\'s thesis that examines the discourse around design education and proposes a more human-centered approach that incorporates theory, personal narrative, and technical skills. My goal is to advocate for people of all sizes and to inspire the next generation of fashion designers to create more equitable and inclusive fashion systems and products.
