ABOUT KEELY MCCORMICK

In 2023, I completed an intensive UI/UX certification with the goal of becoming a UX designer. UX perfectly balances my background in research and design, allowing me to leverage my Environmental Science background and web design experience for nonprofits and political campaigns. After graduating from Willamette University, I worked at a Native Plant Nursery in Golden Gate National Parks, where I experimented with plant growth techniques and managed data closely. Then, I joined CVNL, a volunteer organizing nonprofit, where I expanded their digital presence and designed their volunteer matching website. I also built websites for local elections as a political consultant. This past year, I\'ve been working at a startup in the US as their Product Designer. I’ve taken their existing chatbot, insights dash, and other products and turned them into beautiful, user-centric products that work for the user instead of against. I decided to transition to UX because it combines my artistic inclinations and passion for web design with my scientific background. Currently creating an app and website to help others move abroad with their pets. As someone who moved abroad with my cat, it\'s been exciting to work on something with real-world applications. Going to use it to travel the world with my cat Georgie! 🤝 I would love to connect with anyone in the UX field! Let\'s share experiences and grow together.
