SKILLS
ABOUT KEEGAN LUTTRELL
artistic and professional experience is vast, ranging from teaching fine art and digital art(the Adobe Suite and beyond), to arts administration as well as working at Apple Inc. My background in fine arts, specifically in sculpture, performance and installation has provided me with skills pertaining to executing large scale concepts into works of art. I am currently an archivist and production assistant at Studio Alicja Kwade. I also freelance as an event installation creator for Wishbone Berlin and an art instructor with CoCreate, Berlin Drawing Room and other pop up workshops. I believe in an experiential approach that introduces students to a variety of materials and methods that helps them expand their critical thinking and analytical skills. My classroom is a place where student-centered inquiry, research-based teaching methodologies, and love of learning flourish. As a teacher, my main goal is to motivate and inspire my students to explore different ways to express themselves through art while also growing their technical skills. Art is inherently interdisciplinary and can be informed by the maths, sciences and history. My lessons acknowledge the cross-curricular aspect of Visual Arts and as a result I have worked congruently with other teachers to highlight this cross-over with other subjects.Keegan Luttrell is a multi-media artist living and working in Berlin. She completed her MFA in sculpture at Mills College in Oakland, California in 2013. She graduated from Maryland Institute College of Art in 2008 with a BFA in Art History, Theory and Criticism and a concentration in Photography. She has shown works in San Francisco, Oakland, Brooklyn, Austin, Baltimore, Boston, Aix-en-Provence, France, Geneva, Switzerland, Berlin, Germany and Athens and Santorini, Greece. Luttrell explores themes of vulnerability, fear, protection, and ritual that emphasise the most fragile aspects of human existence and the reasons behind the urge to maintain a sense of security in a world so tenuous.
