ABOUT KYLA BUCKINGHAM

I am an energetic editor, writer, and educator with strong project management and interpersonal skills. By combining editorial precision with science literacy and a distinct voice — especially in sustainability, STEM, health, and humanitarian sectors — my goal is to deliver high-impact publications that excel in a technology-forward market and leave readers caring about the story’s message. As a publishing professional, I have spent collectively seven years in-house at publishers with an emphasis on scholarly journals, as a part of two decades of experience in editorial management and content creation. As an editor, I see authors as my equal partners. By building upon each other’s strengths, together we can shape a narrative from an excellent draft into an exceptional publication. As a writer, my work has appeared in Creative Nonfiction and Narratively. I have also published research in a peer-reviewed journal and in conference proceedings alongside key opinion leaders. As an educator, I have taught science writing courses at Stevens Institute of Technology on faculty. I served as a teacher\'s aid leading nonfiction student writing workshops at the University of California, San Diego.I earned my BA in literature and writing from the University of California, San Diego. I am currently pursuing an MS in sustainability management at Stevens Institute of Technology, in balance with my other roles. On weekends, I attend an accredited art school.
