About Kenneth Poole

I currently serve as the data steward for the largest database of U.S. property & casualty insurance risk and claim statistics, spanning 15+ lines of business across 52 jurisdictions. This dataset, contributed by over underwriting entities, processes more than 2 billion detailed transaction records annually.I lead a global team of 60+ professionals, including data engineers, analysts, BI developers, data scientists, and actuarial engineers, supporting over 1,200 annual regulatory filings and 15+ industry benchmarking products. These products form the foundation of the pricing analytics that power Verisk’s Core Line Services product suite. My responsibilities include developing and executing our technology and data strategy, overseeing the design, implementation, testing, and validation of our cloud-based data platform. We leverage best-in-class tools such as Snowflake and Sigma, along with internally designed software, as part of our modernization initiatives. I am accountable for ensuring the accuracy, auditability, security, and credibility of this database.Beyond my core responsibilities, I am passionate about building an insurance industry data cloud that delivers greater value to customers—enabling expansive, innovative insurance products that enhance societal resilience against adverse events. My broader mission is to serve the public good by developing the most effective information system for global risk management.I am also deeply interested in developing insurance products for the future economy, considering emerging industries such as space-based commerce, advanced materials, artificial intelligence, and quantum computing. While I’m a science and economics enthusiast, I also have a deep appreciation for music, art, and immersive experiences.Additionally, I am passionate about education reform, particularly in preparing future generations for a post-AI world. I believe in an education system that balances the rigor of STEM disciplines with the creative freedom of the arts. I see digital creative technologies as the key to achieving this balance, with mathematics as the integration point between the two. I am currently working on this vision as a side project.
