Firstly, as an Inventory Management System Deployment Officer at SWBH NHS Trust, I play a key role in supporting the head of local deliveries and the Trust’s IMS Project Lead/Procurement Director with the deployment of the Genesis Inventory Management System. My responsibilities include all work streams relating to material management, particularly consumables, high-spend implants, and clinically essential items. I work closely with key stakeholders across the trust and external interests to ensure process optimization, a smooth and effective transition to the new IMS, and alignment of processes with Scan4Safety standards to ensure compliance and integration.In the same manner, data analysis is central to my role. I compile and analyze historical data on material requirements and spends from various requisition points, thereafter creating a master document for IMS profiles by looking up these profiles from various data sources like the NHSSC TR reports. This groundwork was essential for strategic planning and system rollout. I led a live stocktake to input accurate figures into the IMS system, creating a reliable foundation for ongoing inventory management. My support for end users before and after the go-live period was critical to the role. I provide training, manage change initiatives, and conduct thorough testing in a User Acceptance Testing (UAT)/staging environment. I also configured and distributed mobile devices, such as TC65 PDAs, to support users and maintained clear communication with them to resolve any issues. Moreover, maintaining inventory accuracy is another focus of mine. I report on live stock data and advise on par levels, considering lead times, SLAs, SOPs, and space constraints to meet Trust needs. As part of my role, I assisted with the IMS setup and implementation across the project site, ensuring all procurement processes met Trust requirements, including managing catalog integrity and addressing user enquiries related to the project.
