About Kazim Walji
I began my journey in youth sports at 16, coaching a variety of teams and discovering the powerful role athletics can play in a young person’s life. What started as a love for sports quickly evolved into a deeper commitment to creating meaningful experiences for youth through play.That passion has come full circle at Kids in the Game, where I’ve grown from leading programs on the ground to serving in senior leadership. Today, as Senior Director of Strategic Partnerships, I focus on expanding access to high-quality youth programming across NYC and the Tri-State region — building sustainable school and community partnerships that allow more young people to experience the impact of structured play and physical activity.My foundation in program leadership continues to shape how I approach partnerships: with an understanding of what schools need, what teams require to succeed, and how strategy and execution must align to create lasting impact.At my core, I still believe in the same thing I did at 16 — that play is powerful. My work now centers on scaling that impact thoughtfully, sustainably, and in partnership with the communities we serve.
