ABOUT KAZI ISHRAT JAHAN

A finance and impact investment professional with over 11 years of experience in relationship management with DFIs, MDBs, impact investors, fund managers and corporate customers on behalf of two commercial banks and one international microfinance institution. Throughout her career, she has facilitated international financing to support financial inclusion, female empowerment, sustainable financing and infrastructure development in developing countries of Asia and Africa. Her background spans diverse roles, most recently as Deputy Head of Treasury at ASA International- one of the World’s largest international microfinance institutions, where she managed liquidity, negotiated transactions and oversaw funding strategies across 13 markets, namely India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Myanmar, Philippines, Ghana, Nigeria, Sierra Leone, Uganda, Rwanda, Zambia, Kenya and Tanzania. Being highly skilled in treasury management, trade financing, foreign currency hedging and structuring financial solutions for versatile projects, Ishrat has successfully managed the liquidity requirements and optimized investments and cash flow to meet the organizational objectives. Ishrat is passionate about leveraging her expertise in financial management and building highly effective relationships to drive impact in new-meaningful ways. She is particularly dedicated to supporting climate change and social equity causes, having actively championed Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion in previous roles. She is passionate about leveraging her financial expertise to contribute to mission-driven organizations and drive positive change. With a strong background in banking and finance, Ishrat is eager to support organizations that make a meaningful impact and to connect with others who share a commitment to making an impact. She is recognized for her collaborative and positive work style, demonstrated through successful remote management and consultancy roles. She strongly believes in the power of daily value addition- improving oneself, uplifting others and contributing to the world.
